ESP32 Kitchen Guardian

Idea

The idea originated from a personal experience: my mother would occasionally forget to turn off the stove while cooking. Rather than relying solely on memory, this experiment explores whether a low-cost embedded system can act as a quiet safety companion—monitoring the kitchen environment, recognizing potentially dangerous situations, and notifying the user before they become serious. The long-term vision is to create a practical solution that enhances everyday safety without disrupting normal routines.

Insight

This research has shifted my perspective on technology. The most valuable innovations are not always the most advanced—they are the ones that solve real problems for real people. Exploring sensors, embedded systems, and intelligent decision-making has reinforced the importance of designing technology that is reliable, unobtrusive, and genuinely helpful in everyday life.
